Summary of Job Duties: The position coordinates and evaluates all elements of financial, material, and human resources for the business division of Perioperative, Interventional and Imaging Services. Serves as a liaison between Division Managers and Perioperative Finance and Administration. Oversees instrument/equipment tracking software (e.g., Censitrac), property, purchasing, loss control, and asset management. Establishes policies and procedures that govern business operations, emphasizing loss control and inventory management. Evaluates damaged instrumentation for repairs or replacement, coordinates with vendors, and conducts cost analysis to ensure proper instrument costs in procedural billing. Collaborates with Institutional Security and Support Services Asset Protection department to track and investigate loss of instrumentation and equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of progressively responsible supervisor/management experience in Sterile Processing.
  • Candidate MUST have 2 years of sterile processing training or experience.
  • CRCST or CBSPD certification required within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved surgical tech program

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain adequate inventory of instrumentation, trays, supplies, scopes, instrument implants, and equipment for OR.
  • Coordinate education sessions with vendors for surgeons, residents, and OR staff.
  • Implement inventory and equipment control by analyzing processes to reduce loss and avoid over-purchasing.
  • Oversee instrument tagging and inventory tracking methods.
  • Develop and manage systems (e.g., Censitrac, Esims) for inventory accuracy based on usage and history.
  • Assist with budgeting and ensure accounts stay within budget.
  • Maximize workflow and efficiencies through technology use, including order tracking and equipment management.
  • Monitor procedures for requesting SPD supplies and instruments, collaborating with surgeons and ACSMs.
  • Track and communicate special orders for patient care.
  • Participate in onboarding new surgeons.
  • Stay informed about new technology and procedures related to inventory and supply management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
