Job summary

Fitch Ratings in New York is seeking an Associate Director to lead end-to-end RMBS transaction coverage, assess credit and cash flow risks, and mentor analysts. You will present at rating committees and engage with issuers, arrangers, and investors while contributing to criteria enhancements.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of RMBS/ABS experience, a bachelor's degree, and strong quantitative skills with cash flow modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and CFA/FRM is a plus.
• 5–8 years of RMBS/ABS, mortgage credit, structured finance, or related capital markets experience.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including cash flow modeling and large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with senior external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead primary and surveillance analysis of RMBS transactions, including collateral, structural, legal, and counterparty assessments.
• Own cash flow modeling, scenario design, and sensitivity analysis; oversee model deployment and results interpretation.
• Present recommendations at rating committees; chair committees as needed and document decisions to a high standard.
• Drive criteria application and contribute to criteria development and methodological enhancements.
• Produce high-quality research, market commentary, and issuer/investor communications.
• Coach and review the work of junior and senior analysts to ensure analytical rigor and consistency.
