Job summary

Leidos in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking an Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) Engineer to join the FAA's En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, maintainability, and operational availability for complex aviation ground systems.

You will develop RMA requirements, perform modeling and analysis, support design reviews, test plans, and lifecycle sustainment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across hardware,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 4–8 years of experience.
  • Experience with systems engineering throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain RMA requirements and specifications throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Perform system-level RMA modeling, analysis, and performance predictions.
  • Support system and design reviews, providing RMA assessments and recommendations.
  • Develop and support test plans, procedures, and evaluations to verify RMA requirements.
  • Perform failure analysis and trending; identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support reliability growth initiatives by evaluating field performance and failure trends.
