Job summary

Leidos is hiring a Hardware Systems Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD to support the FAA ERAM program. The successful candidate will create CAD drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions, and will participate in hardware design and integration activities across multiple teams.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical/computer engineering background and experience with ECNs/ECRs, configuration management, and lab testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related technical discipline; 2–4 years of experience, or Master's with <2 years.
Experience supporting ECNs/ECRs, configuration management, or formal design change processes.
Experience hardware integration, CAD modeling, testing, or troubleshooting in lab/production.

Responsibilities

Create and update CAD drawings, Visio diagrams, Cable Marking Specifications, BOMs and installation instructions.
Develop hardware designs, wiring diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and cable lists for installation and integration.
Support hardware fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair and modification activities.
Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to support system implementation and integration.
Develop and maintain engineering drawings, source control drawings, system specifications and verification procedures.
