Job summary

Thunderbolt Solutions is seeking a RMA Engineer to support RM&A data collection and analysis for AWS/ORTS programs on U.S. Navy warships. Travel 20–30% includes underway periods aboard ships, and the engineer will leverage SOPs, Excel, and Power BI for data management.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with DoD secret clearance eligibility and strong communication skills for collaboration with government and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Background with Aegis Weapon System (AWS) and Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS).
• Must possess or be eligible for DoD Secret clearance.
• Travel 20–30% and aboard U.S. Navy ships (underway periods).
• Ability to climb tall ladders and work in adverse environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Support RMA data collection during land-based testing and shipboard testing using SOP.
• Coordinate Data Scoring Boards and participate in data analysis Working Groups.
• Review system concepts, designs, and data deliverables; assess reliability and root cause.
• Analyze data with Excel, Power BI, and format data for dashboards and AI work.
• Develop RMA assessment plans; coordinate with government and industry partners.
• Prepare daily, quick-look, and final RM&A reports and SITREPs.
• Lead presentations and Working Groups; communicate with military and civilian personnel.
• Travel to land-based and shipboard sites, in port and underway.
