Job summary

The Office of Juvenile Affairs seeks a Risk and Safety Manager I to lead safety initiatives, assess risks, and prepare regulatory reports. You will develop policies, oversee insurance and workers’ compensation, and coordinate emergency response planning across Oklahoma agencies.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in safety or related field plus relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to train staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in safety, industrial relations, or risk management.
• Knowledge of federal and state statutes related to wage, hour, and workplace safety.
• Ability to supervise staff, develop policy, manage budgets, and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments by collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, and trends.
• Develop and implement policies to mitigate risks across departments.
• Review risk management policies and implement improvements.
• Administer workers’ compensation programs and health and safety initiatives.
• Coordinate safety training and support leadership on safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with ADA and emergency response plans.
