Qualifications

• RN license in New York required.
• Minimum two years of risk management experience in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) or equivalent leadership role.
• Long term care/nursing home experience required.
• Experience submitting accident and incident reports to the DOH (Department of Health).
• Knowledge of healthcare liability and risk management practices.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review all accident and incident reports for accuracy and summarize investigation findings within 5 days.
• Submit and complete reportable cases to DOH.
• Review staff incident reports and workers' comp investigations.
• Assist in hiring, training, teaching, and supervising nurses.
• Manage clinical operations and develop care plans.
• Prepare daily schedules and plan shifts.
• Ensure adherence to departmental procedures and policies.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense management.
• Conduct patient rounds and address complaints.
• Evaluate department performance and recommend improvements.
• Schedule staff meetings for patient updates and issues.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local standards.
• Keep patient and employee records updated and accurate.
