New York State Department of Health seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing in Long Term Care to lead risk management, investigations and quality initiatives ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current NYS employee with one or more years in a Grade 23 or above, eligible for transfer to Assistant Director Nursing 1 Long Term Care.
• Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in NYS.
• Three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience in long-term care; one year in a supervisory role.
• Master’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure experience; a doctorate may substitute for two years.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk management, incident investigations, resident grievance resolution, regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
• Ensure care delivery in accordance with CMS regulations, DOH requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, physicians and regulators.
