Job summary

Courier Express in Marietta, GA seeks a Corporate Risk and Safety professional to facilitate and maintain policies, and to support field operations in cargo, liability and workers’ compensation initiatives.

Primary duties include DOT compliance management, vehicle onboard camera program oversight, facility audit programs, training and audits, corrective actions, accident investigations with root cause analysis, and high‑level claims administration and corporate insurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management preferred or equivalent of 4 years’ experience in a transportation related field.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge.
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations (MCS-150s, UCR, Clearinghouse, etc.).
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of credibility with all levels of staff and in all circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and maintain Corporate Risk and Safety policies throughout the Company.
  • Provide support and guidance to Field Operations for administration of cargo, liability and workers’ compensation initiatives.
  • Management of DOT-compliance related items.
  • Management of vehicle onboard camera program.
  • Facility Audit program management.
  • Provides training, conducts and/or oversees audits for all facilities to identify deficiencies.
  • Issue corrective action related to these safety deficiencies.
  • Enforces safety in all facilities companywide; conducts root cause analysis and writes corrective action plans.
  • High-level Claims administration.
  • Corporate insurance.
  • Acts as primary liaison between employees, field operations and the insurance company; responsible for closure on events; coordinates billing.
  • Completes special projects at management’s request.
  • Mitigates negative exposure and ensures compliance of regulated paperwork across Regional Operations.

Job description

  • Acts as primary liaison between employees, field operations and the insurance company and is ultimately responsible for closure on an event. Financially responsible for each event and must coordinate billing internally or with the insurance carrier.


Secondary Job Duties:

Completes special projects at the request of management.
