Job summary

Forest View Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Director of Risk Management to protect the hospital’s assets and lead loss control efforts. The DRM coordinates risk programs, advises leadership, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related health field, at least five years in risk management within an acute care setting, and strong knowledge of Joint Commission, TDSHS, CMS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related health field is required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Five (5+) years of experience in risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric setting.
• A strong knowledge of Joint Commission, TDSHS, CMS standards, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs the performance improvement process.
• Maintains policy and procedure compliance with current regulations and standards.
• Coordinates the Risk Management TERM Survey Program.
• Oversees the hospital contract log for accuracy and completeness.
• Directs the peer review process for all Medical Staff.
• Oversees the patient satisfaction process.
• Manages hospital patient safety initiatives with Nursing and Clinical Services.
• Conducts root cause analysis and manages probable claims reports.
• Delivers risk management training during new employee orientation.
• Coordinates preparation for external audits and regulatory requests.
