Job summary

Midland-Marvel in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Director of Risk Management for an approximately 300-bed acute care hospital. This leadership role reports to the CEO and oversees patient safety, claims management, regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and performance improvement.

The ideal candidate has hospital risk management experience in acute care, collaborates with executives and clinicians, and drives risk strategy across the organization while maintaining a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• 2–5 years of Risk Management experience.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare risk management and patient safety principles.
• Experience with investigations, claims management, risk assessments, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and CMS requirements.
• Experience applying RCA, FMEA, and other quality/risk-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the hospital's risk management and patient safety programs.
• Identify risk areas and develop mitigation strategies across clinical, operational, and organizational domains.
• Conduct risk assessments for existing operations, new programs, and new services.
• Oversee claims management activities and investigations of adverse events.
• Lead Root Cause Analyses and create corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive risk-reduction strategies and data-driven decisions.
