Barnhart Crane & Rigging seeks a strategic Risk Manager to own the risk program, including insurance structure, claims handling, risk financing, and mitigation across all branches. You will lead with data-driven recommendations, coordinate with safety and operations, and manage external partners to optimize cost of risk.

In this role you will partner with the SVP Risk Management and Administration and provide guidance on risk strategy, reserves, and coverage determinations while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, Legal Studies, or related field
• Experience managing workers' compensation, auto liability, general liability, property, cargo, and excess liability claims
• Experience with contractual insurance and risk transfer requirements
• Strong analytical and reporting experience

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary risk and insurance resource for branches and leadership
• Oversee and manage insured claims, including workers' compensation, auto, general liability, and cargo
• Direct and manage TPAs, carriers, brokers, adjusters, and defense counsel
• Analyze loss data and provide actionable risk recommendations
• Partner with Safety and Operations to identify emerging risks and preventive measures
