Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer for the Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) department to support the Risk-Informed Capital Initiatives team. The role develops and deploys risk-informed tools to enhance safety, optimize operations, and ensure regulatory compliance across the nuclear fleet.

The candidate will work with experienced engineers, manage tasks with limited supervision, and contribute to technical analyses and documentation in specialization areas.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering is required.
• 4+ years of engineering experience; 1 year in nuclear power plants.
• Master's degree may substitute for the B.S. degree.
• PE license preferred or state registration may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of risk-informed applications across the nuclear fleet.
• Provide engineering support and analyze problems under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Apply rigorous methods to optimize safety and regulatory compliance.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and share knowledge within the team.
