Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer in its Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) department to support the Risk-Informed Capital Initiatives team. You will develop, maintain, and deploy risk-informed tools to enhance safety, optimize operations, and support regulatory compliance across the nuclear fleet.

The role requires performing engineering work with limited supervision, applying established principles, and contributing technical analysis in specialized areas.

Qualifications

• The incumbent must meet ANSI requirements for Nuclear Operating Fleet personnel.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering is required; a Master’s degree may substitute.
• Professional Engineer licensure or SRO license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of risk-informed applications across the nuclear fleet.
• Provide engineering and technical support for problem analysis under supervision.
• Apply established methods to support risk-informed solutions enhancing safety and regulatory compliance.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor assigned work activities.
• Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and share knowledge with peers.
