Job summary

The Duke Energy Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) department seeks an Engineer to support the Risk-Informed Capital Initiatives team. The role develops and deploys risk-informed decision tools to enhance safety, optimize operations, and support regulatory compliance across the nuclear fleet.

Candidates must perform with limited supervision, apply established engineering principles, and manage tasks with guidance from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the BS engineering degree.
• One year of nuclear power plant experience is required.
• Proficiency in probabilistic risk assessment concepts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of risk-informed applications across the nuclear fleet.
• Provide engineering and technical support under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Apply technical rigor to support risk-informed solutions and regulatory compliance.
• Plan, organize, and monitor assigned work activities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and share knowledge with peers.
