Core Responsibilities

• Learn manual and claim experience rating models and pricing tools.
• Perform risk assessments and develop rates for large, complex cases independently.
• Develop strategic recommendations related to market competition, products, and pricing.
• Engage with Sales and Clients through presale and inforce strategies.
• Support Sales as a financial consultant with expertise in rating models and pricing.
• Manage a diverse book of business, focusing on profitable growth and earnings.
• Collaborate with other underwriting teams to optimize cross-sale opportunities.
• Work with product/pricing teams to meet market needs.
• Operate autonomously, applying judgment to techniques and procedures.
• Conduct calls with Sales, brokers, or clients independently.
• Mentor less experienced underwriters and serve as a subject matter expert.
• Lead by example and influence underwriting best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical underwriting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, Mathematics, or Business preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle complex cases and adapt to market changes.
• Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for leadership in the health services industry.
• Innovative, customer-focused, and analytical mindset.

Additional Information

Remote work requires a broadband internet connection of at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds. The annual salary range is $74,300 - $123,900, plus potential participation in an annual bonus plan. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
