Core Responsibilities

1. Learn manual and claim experience rating models and pricing tools.
2. Perform risk assessments and rate development for complex cases independently.
3. Develop strategic recommendations for market competition, product development, and pricing.
4. Engage with Sales and Clients through presale and inforce case strategies and discussions.
5. Support Sales as a financial consultant with expertise in rating models and pricing adjustments.
6. Manage a diverse book of business focused on profitable growth and earnings.
7. Collaborate with underwriting teams to optimize cross-sale opportunities.
8. Work with product/pricing teams to address market needs.
9. Exercise judgment independently in evaluating techniques and procedures.
10. Conduct calls with Sales, brokers, or clients independently.
11. Mentor less experienced underwriters and serve as a subject matter expert.
12. Lead by example and influence underwriting practices.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 3+ years of medical underwriting experience preferred.
2. Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, Mathematics, or Business (preferred but not required).
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to manage complex cases and adapt to market changes.
5. Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Passion for leadership in the health service industry.
8. Innovative, customer-centric, and analytical mindset.

Additional Information

Remote work requires internet speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload via cable or fiber optic.

Salary range: $74,300 - $123,900 annually, based on experience and location. Eligible for an annual bonus.
