Job summary

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in London, KY is seeking an Engineer-In-Training II to perform intermediate engineering tasks across projects, manage consultants, and contribute to cost estimates. The role builds practical skills toward professional licensure while supporting a safe and efficient transportation system.

You will work in an office/field setting under an initial 6-month probation, with opportunities for growth and licensure, and must meet education and licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Two years of engineering experience as an Engineer-In-Training.
• Master's degree can substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees portions of engineering areas to verify data against plans and standards.
• Coordinates and oversees contractors and consultants.
• Serves as project manager for consultant highway design projects.
• Develops accurate cost estimates for active design projects.
• Learns KYTC feature code language used in TOPO surveying and DTM construction.
