Job summary

Immel Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to help deliver retail construction projects from award through closeout. Working with Project Managers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will coordinate project documentation, schedules, costs, procurement, and day-to-day needs.

You will support project startup, maintain files, track logs, assist with subcontracts and payments, and help manage risks, safety, and quality to meet schedule and budget goals while

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent construction experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first six months of employment.
• 1-5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, estimating, field supervision, or related construction roles preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project startup activities and project setup.
• Maintain accurate project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project correspondence, meeting minutes, and project logs.
• Maintain and track submittal, RFI, change order, and closeout logs.
• Assist with preparation and execution of subcontracts, purchase orders, and owner contract documents.
• Coordinate communication among project team members, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Assist in identifying potential project risks and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Support project managers and superintendents in resolving day-to-day project issues.
• Foster positive working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; monitor long-lead items.
• Track submittal and shop drawing status to support timely execution.
• Support monthly owner pay applications and subcontractor payment processing.
• Maintain cost-related project documentation and reporting.
• Conduct periodic jobsite visits to gain project understanding and support coordination.
• Support project teams in maintaining compliance with contract documents.
• Promote a safe and productive jobsite environment.
• Utilize Procore and other project management tools to support documentation.
• Ensure project information is current and properly documented.
