Job summary

The King and Prince Golf Club on St. Simons Island, GA seeks a motivated Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to lead the Grounds Crew and support the superintendent through a major renovation and grow-in phase.

The role includes agronomic planning, safety, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. Ideal candidates bring turfgrass management education, progressive maintenance experience, and a track record of leading crews.

Qualifications

Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Commercial pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or related field.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily golf course maintenance activities and crew assignments.
Provide hands-on leadership, training and support to Grounds Crew.
Assist with renovation, grow-in and reopening of the golf course.
Support agronomic programs involving warm-season turf, irrigation, drainage, fertilization, plant protection and cultural practices.
Monitor course conditions and maintain exceptional playing surfaces and presentation standards.
Plan, schedule, record-keep and ensure regulatory compliance.
Serve as maintenance leader in the superintendent’s absence.
