Job summary

The King and Prince Golf Club on St. Simons Island is seeking a Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to lead the Grounds Crew, assist with renovation and grow-in activities, and support opening preparations for our reimagined courses.

The role reports to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and requires strong leadership, agronomic knowledge, and a commitment to high standards of course presentation. This is a hands-on, team-focused position at a premier private club.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or related field.
• Two years+ progressive golf course maintenance experience.
• Experience leading or supervising a maintenance crew.
• Knowledge of warm-season turfgrass management, irrigation, drainage, fertilizers, pest controls, and cultural practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license; pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily golf course maintenance activities and crew assignments.
• Provide hands-on leadership, training, and support to Grounds Crew.
• Assist with renovation, grow-in, and reopening of the golf course.
• Support agronomic programs for warm-season turf, irrigation, drainage, fertilization, and cultural practices.
• Monitor course conditions to maintain exceptional playing surfaces and presentation.
• Coordinate with Mechanic Crew and Golf Operations for efficient daily operations.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a maintenance leader when senior management is unavailable.
