Job summary
Comfort Systems USA Mid South is hiring an HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice II to join our commercial construction team. You will work under experienced sheet metal mechanics to develop advanced installation skills, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and HVAC components.
You should be reliable, eager to learn, and safety-minded, with 1–2 years of sheet metal experience or related training.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience or equivalent trade school/apprenticeship.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with SMACNA installation standards preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems.
- Install ductwork and HVAC components in accordance with SMACNA standards.
- Assist with installation of air terminal units, rooftop units, split systems, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and installation details under supervision of experienced mechanics.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal using hand and power tools.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and protect materials and equipment.
- Travel to job sites and occasionally stay overnight as required.
