Job summary

Carrier’s Automated Logic unit is seeking an Associate Controls Engineer to design and implement building automation systems tailored to client needs. You will work on site and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver control solutions that improve comfort, efficiency, and reliability.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, time management, and the ability to take ownership of smaller projects, with opportunities to grow technically within an established building automation team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years in construction, industrial, manufacturing or engineering, OR an Associate degree.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering preferred.
• Experience in HVAC controls, BAS, or commercial electrical/mechanical installation preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, or HVAC concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and program building automation systems and site-specific control configurations.
• Adhere to project requirements, technical specifications, and company standards.
• Create, document, and maintain clear technical design documents and revision logs.
• Develop graphical and text-based user interfaces for building automation systems.
• Perform pre-implementation testing on control programming and interfaces.
• Provide technical support to sales to meet customer requirements.
• Identify and communicate project opportunities, risks, and testing needs.
