Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. invites applications for the Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent role in Virginia.

The candidate will support managing work flow, communicate project priorities to field staff and subcontractors, and maintain daily logs while ensuring safety across site activities. The job requires 2–5 years in commercial construction, a diploma (preferably a 4-year degree), and proficiency with project software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a 4-year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction with a GC.
• Tenant renovations, service work, occupied spaces, weekend work, fast-paced project experience a plus.
• Project lead experience a plus.
• ProCore, Microsoft Office, Adobe, BlueBeam proficiency.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Work with project manager in formulating project schedule and ensure proper methods and sequence of installation.
• Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project.
• Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors and ensure fair treatment.
• Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets and understand subcontractor scope to avoid change orders.
• Develop and organize the site team and arrange for temporary facilities/utilities.
