Job summary

GH Engage in Mount Prospect, IL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work closely with senior project managers, coordinate with subs and stakeholders, and help manage schedules, budgets, and documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with field teams, owners, architects, and engineers, plus maintaining project controls, invoicing review, and risk identification.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction in roles like Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator.
• Federal construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling and project management principles.
• Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, project documentation, and client communications.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in managing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, owners, architects, and engineers to support successful project delivery.
• Assist with managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
• Track project progress, deliverables, and outstanding items to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier invoices, commitments, and project costs.
• Support project forecasting, financial reporting, and budget tracking.
• Help monitor compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Assist with identifying project risks, resolving issues, and implementing solutions in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with internal and external project stakeholders.
• Support the Project Manager and field team with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
