Job summary

Yukon Public Schools is seeking an experienced Special Education Resource Teacher to support students across LEAP, RISE, LIFE, and ABLE settings. The role focuses on collaborative planning, co-teaching, and direct instruction to meet IEP goals.

The position requires state certification for Special Education and active participation in evaluation and team meetings. The teacher will contribute to a structured environment and ongoing professional growth within the district.

Qualifications

• Must holdState Certification for Special Education as required by Oklahoma standards.
• Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborate with therapists and general education staff.
• Experience with co-teaching and data collection for student progress is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned class in the location and at the time designated.
• Prepares for class assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the administration.
• Participates in Eligibility, Placement, and IEP team meetings when called upon to do so.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning for students with varying disabilities.
• Collaborates with regular classroom teachers to plan instructional goals and methods.
• Provides appropriate educational program for students and documents progress.
• Maintains communication with students and parents regarding progress and behavior.
• Attends faculty meetings and participates in professional growth activities.
