Job summary

The Tennessee Department of Health seeks a RISE Navigator in Cocke County on a contract basis. The role focuses on screening, crisis intervention, and linking clients to recovery services. Hybrid work in Cocke County with travel to outreach sites is expected.

Responsibilities include education to prevent overdoses and disease spread, building community partnerships, and thorough documentation. A valid driver’s license and ability to work with diverse populations are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Understanding and support for medication-assisted recovery practices.
• Ability to develop and sustain relationships in the community.
• Familiarity with recovery support services in the service area.
• Experience providing peer support and building effective relationships.
• Commitment to dignity and respect for all.
• Proficient in active listening and open-ended questions.
• Ability to maintain boundaries.
• Cultural competency with diverse populations.
• Strong customer service ethic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate SUD screenings and assessments.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling.
• Deliver education to prevent overdoses and disease spread.
• Build partnerships with SSPs, ROPs, and treatment providers.
• Link clients to mental health, treatment, and recovery services.
• Complete progress notes and enter referrals in record systems.
• Attend team meetings and trainings to improve services.
• Travel as required with mileage reimbursement.
• Perform other duties to meet community needs.
