Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Career Development Coordinator for the FGCU R.I.S.E. program. The role coordinates employment and internship opportunities and teaches courses that support students’ career development and workforce readiness.

The position collaborates with employers, community agencies, and campus partners to connect students with experiential learning and employment opportunities while creating pathways to employment for R.I.S.E participants.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Special Education or related field.
• Two years of experience working with and teaching students with intellectual disabilities.
• Teaching certification or license in special education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employment and internship opportunities for FGCU R.I.S.E participants.
• Teach career development courses and seminars (e.g., SLS 1304, SLS 1350, SLS 1320, SLS 1305, SLS 2930, SLS 2940).
• Partner with employers and community agencies to place interns and graduates.
• Develop workshops and career events; analyze data and outcomes.
