Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV seeks a Guest Services/Cashier to warmly greet guests, manage reservations, and balance daily cash. You will handle waitlists, process payments, and coordinate with service staff to ensure smooth dining experiences.

The role requires flexible shifts, strong customer service, and the ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior cashiering experience is preferred.

• Address guest inquiries.
• Receive payment from guests in cash, credit cards and room charges; balance and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
• Make deposits/cash drops and complete cashier reports; balance and secure bank.
• Interact with team members and guests professionally and handle complaints effectively.
• Communicate special requests with management, service staff and culinary team.
• Assist the support team to turn tables faster by resetting them quickly.
• Take to-go orders and pack with required condiments.
• Support and maintain Grand Sierra Resort guest service guidelines and policies.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following sanitation standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Greet and seat guests by utilizing department greeting and steps of service.
• Manage reservations including calling and confirming upcoming reservations.
• Manage waitlist by providing accurate wait time estimates.
• Address guest inquires.
• Receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit cards, and room charges and comp slips; make changes as needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed to accurately balance all monetary transactions.
• Make deposits/cash drops, complete appropriate cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank.
• Interact with team members and guests in a professional and polite manner including complaints and concerns are effectively handled.
• Communicate special requests with management, service staff, and culinary team.
• Assist the support team to turn tables faster by resetting them quickly and efficiently.
• Take to-go orders and assure the orders are packed with the required condiments.
• Support and maintain Grand Sierra Resort guest service guidelines and other policies and procedures.
• Help maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Deal with guests and team members in a tactful and respectful manner.
• Ability of simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills is required.
• Must have the following skills: coordination, supervising, following instructions, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
• Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous cashiering experience is preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, frequently walking and balancing, and occasionally bending over during the duration of their shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull up to 10lbs.
• The team members will constantly have repetitive use of both hands and occasional light and firm/strong grasping motions.
• Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
