ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Promptly welcomes all guests and ensures they receive responsive, professional, and gracious service at all times. Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency to maintain productive working relationships and deliver necessary items.
• Effectively communicates with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests or other team members.
• Clears tables after guests leave, promptly cleans table tops and seating areas, and takes tableware to the dish room.
• Assists servers in pre‑bussing and busing tables—including clearing, wiping tabletops, chairs & booths, and setting tables.
• Helps set up the to‑go/pick‑up area and delivers to‑go orders to the host desk for guests.
• Refills beverages as necessary.
• Sets and resets tables and side stations before, during, and after service periods.
• Delivers food orders to tables.
• Ensures all machines are cleaned properly.
• Folds/rolls napkins when needed and keeps silverware polished.
• Resets tables in a timely and efficient manner.
• Participates in Pre‑Shift meetings and learns new menu items.
• Assists the kitchen in expediting the service process to maintain the flow of service.
• Maintains general cleanliness in the dining room during service periods.
• Responsible for taking, compiling, delivering, and putting away warehouse orders.
• Assists the Manager on duty in leading the outlet and serves as an extension of management when absent.
• Assists the department in implementing new strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provides clear communication and direction, keeping team members informed and educated on current department and company initiatives.
• Supports and maintains Grand Sierra Resort guest service guidelines and other policies and procedures.
• Promptly corrects and helps other team members with technical issues and supports staff on POS. Ensures team members follow all points of service.
• Ensures the outlet and surrounding areas meet department standards and are suitable for guest use, managing all opening, daily, and closing procedures.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Executes training programs for new and existing team members with the outlet manager and training & technology manager.
• Assists the manager with inventory and order sheets, implementing and tracking side work.
• Communicates on any menu modifications and POS errors.
• Performs any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of and ability to identify menu products.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate a glassware washing machine and refill ice bins and beer bins using ice machines.
• Knowledge of the dish room, including separating silverware, dishes & glassware appropriately.
• Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
• Basic reading, math, writing, and task completion skills.
• Skills in compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
• Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Completion of an introductory period as a GSR restaurant busser/runner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Constant standing, walking, and frequent reaching overhead, bending over, kneeling, and balancing during shifts.
• Ability to push/pull and lift/carry 50lbs or less frequently.
• Repetitive use of both hands and occasional light and firm/strong grasping motions.
• Continuous visual demands, including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed indoors, alone and frequently with and around others, including face‑to‑face verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment and other mechanical devices.
