Richland County Ag in South Carolina seeks a Right Of Way Agent to secure rights-of-way for county road projects and capital improvements.

You will research property ownership, establish boundaries through records, prepare easements, contact owners, and coordinate with departments and external parties.

The role also involves maintaining ROW records, handling inquiries, and performing general admin tasks to support project delivery.

Qualificações

• Requires high school diploma or GED supplemented by formal training or coursework equivalent to at least one year of college education or specialized advanced training in surveying, construction, engineering technology or a closely related field.

Responsabilidades

• Obtains rights-of-way for the construction of new County roads and other capital improvements.
• Researches property ownership of parcels of land associated with roads, bridges, and drainage construction projects.
• Researches legal records to establish boundaries of properties.
• Prepares temporary and permanent easement documents for signatures and recording.
• Locates and contacts property owners for execution of documents; negotiates terms for signatures.
• Maintains and manages right-of-way records and database.
• Retrieves and reports right-of-way information as requested.
• Assists in coordinating assigned activities and functions with those of other County departments, engineers, developers, contractors, property owners, and outside agencies as appropriate.
• Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility.
• Performs general administrative / clerical work as required, including copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving data, preparing spreadsheets, answering the telephone, etc.
• Receives new subdivision deeds and easements, obtains administrative approval, records same, and distributes copies.
