ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Agent to work on projects in the New York Metropolitan area. The selected candidate must reside in the New York Metropolitan area and will work primarily at the ORC office in Manhattan for Metropolitan Transportation Authority projects, although some remote work may be allowable based upon field activity and office coverage. Expenses and mileage reimbursed based on travel needs.

The Right Work. The Right People. The Right Culture.

Right of Way is where infrastructure meets innovation—shaping roads, utilities, and communities for the future. At ORC, we offer more than a job—we offer purpose, stability, and growth. Join a team that values collaboration, respects your work-life balance, and empowers you to make a lasting impact!

What you will be doing:

As a Right of Way Agent, you will provide relocation assistance services guided by the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 and per project guidelines and regulations, for federally funded road projects throughout the right-of-way project lifecycle in support of the Project Manager (PM), or members of the project team. This includes preparing real estate documents, performing basic property research for ownership and boundary information, and communicating with property owners and their representatives for the relocations. You will be responsible for performing general administrative work including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers, customer service and related functions. Future responsibilities may include the acquisition of real property, and likely extend to other projects and clients in NYC boroughs and areas surrounding New York City (i.e., Long Island, lower Hudson Valley).

We are looking for someone who:

  • Manages deadlines and prioritizes effectively.
  • Has a responsible and organized approach to work.
  • Is approachable and comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Is a problem solver with attention to detail and strong negotiation skills.
  • Works independently and as part of a team.

What we are offering:

  • Generous base pay - $80,000-$105,000/year depending on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401K and disability coverage
  • PTO, sick time, and holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional training
  • Calm Membership to support wellness
  • Recognition programs, growth opportunities, and a family-friendly atmosphere
  • Stable and steady work

Here are the minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing relocations and acquisitions under a structured local, state, or federal program
  • Experience utilizing the Uniform Relocation Act
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dropbox
  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
  • Valid Driver’s License
