Job summary

Prime Independent Living is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in maintaining a safe, beautiful, and welcoming community. You will handle resident requests, repairs, and daily upkeep to ensure a high-quality living environment.

This role involves assisting with preventive maintenance, apartment turns, and coordinating with vendors while upholding safety and service standards. A strong work ethic and team attitude are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in maintenance, facilities, property management, senior living, or related fields.
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, painting.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to learn and take direction from the Maintenance Director.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to maintenance needs.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently or with a team.
Ability to lift, carry, push and move equipment and supplies.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Background screening and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day maintenance and repairs across apartments, common areas, grounds, and parking areas.
Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders promptly and professionally.
Assist with repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, lighting, and general building maintenance.
Support preventive maintenance and apartment turns to keep residences move-in ready.
Coordinate with Maintenance Director and outside contractors as needed.
Maintain safe, clean, welcoming environment throughout the community.
