Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living seeks a Maintenance Assistant to perform daily repairs and preventative facility maintenance across our community. You will handle routine tasks, basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, and upkeep of HVAC and safety systems, while supporting housekeeping and make-ready preparation for suites.

This role emphasizes safety and compliance with OSHA standards, requires teamwork with care staff, and offers benefits and a stable schedule in a senior living environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair is beneficial.
• Familiarity with safety practices and OSHA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory.
• Support carpet and floor care as needed.
• Assist with suite “make-ready” preparation.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned.
