Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience.
• Current CCO Signalperson (SGP) certification.
• Current CCO RIG-I certification.
• Employer practical qualification for rigging duties.
• Forklift/telehandler, aerial lift/MEWP, chain-hoist, jacking/ skating qualifications when assigned.
• Ability to complete routine rigging work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review routine lift instructions including load weight and rigging configuration.
• Establish exclusion zones and verify crew positions and travel routes.
• Perform pre-use inspections of rigging gear and remove defective equipment.
• Select routine rigging matching known load and environment.
• Use charts to account for sling angles and verify connections.
• Build standard hitch configurations and ensure seating and protection.
• Conduct controlled test lifts to verify balance and brake response.
• Provide standard hand or radio signals for routine lifts.
• Guide loads along planned routes and land carefully.
• Utilize hoists, come-alongs, jacks, skates within rated limits.
• Stop unsafe conditions and escalate as needed.
• Communicate status and train Rigging Helpers.
