Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience or equivalent.
• Current CCO Signalperson (SGP) certification.
• Current CCO RIG-I certification.
• Documented employer practical qualification for assigned rigging duties.
• Forklift/telehandler, aerial lift/MEWP, chain-hoist, jacking, skating, and site-specific qualifications when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Review lift instructions for load weight, CG, pick points, route, rigging configuration and crew roles.
• Establish exclusion zones and verify crew positions, escape paths, signals and travel clearance.
• Perform pre-use inspections of slings, shackles, hooks, eyebolts, hoists; remove defective gear.
• Select routine rigging matching load, hitch, environment, reach and capacity.
• Use charts to account for sling angle and verify connections and leg loads.
• Build standard vertical, choker and basket hitches; verify seating and edge protection.
• Conduct controlled test lifts to confirm balance and braking; stay within approved method.
• Give accurate hand or radio signals for routine lifts; stop if unclear.
• Guide loads along planned routes; land loads safely and de-rig at final point.
• Use hoists and related gear within rated limits when qualified.
