Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Field Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls to lead field engineering for work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, testing, and turnover coordination on a Pecos, Texas project.

You will supervise field activities, ensure adherence to project requirements, and coordinate with subcontracts to maintain schedule and safety standards. Strong knowledge of instrumentation and commissioning is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, field communications, tubing systems, and instrument installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans, coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
