Job summary

Steel Energy Services LTD. is seeking a Rig Operator to join our crew in Williston, ND. This role involves operating the rig, leading floor hands and derrick hands, and ensuring safe, efficient service delivery for client contracts.

The position requires strong safety awareness, ability to work long hours including weekends, and basic oilfield knowledge. CDL Class B is preferred, with training and support provided to successful applicants.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• No experience necessary; preferred experience with construction or hard labor.
• Basic problem solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and English communication (verbal/written).
• Basic Oilfield knowledge preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Class B CDL to drive workover rig (not required but encouraged).
• Ability to pass pre-employment exam including drug screen and physical.
• Acceptable criminal history.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Available to work beyond 8 hours; weekends and holidays as needed for operations (including 24-hour shifts).
• Report to location on time, dressed for deployment; absence discipline may apply.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on oil and gas wells as part of a crew.
• Lead daily pre-job tailgate safety meetings and write JHA's.
• Inspect and document lift equipment on location.
• Lead crew in rigging up/down and post-inspection tasks.
• Pull and lay down rods, tubing, and casing; manage rig controls.
• Guide and manage the rig crew daily; assist training as needed.
• Drive company vehicles; assist with yard maintenance and repairs.
