Job summary

Ranger Energy Services is seeking an Operator I - Rig to oversee rig operations, supervise crew, and ensure safe, reliable service at customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, equipment inspection, and coordination with vendors during operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience on well servicing rigs, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A valid CDL and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience on a well servicing rig.
• 5 years of experience on a well servicing rig.
• 2 years as a relief operator.
• Must be able to perform the duties of Floor Hand III and Derrick Hand.
• Must have a valid state issued driver's license or CDL.
• Ability to perform manual labor required to operate well servicing equipment.
• Strong communication, leadership, and people skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Familiar with pump and tank operations.
• Knowledge of workover/completions operations.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote RES concept of Stop Work Accountability.
• Promote RES safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate Meet and Greet at location sites with customers.
• Coordinate vendor and contractor groups during simultaneous operations.
• Operate the rig safely during rig up/down and pulling operations.
• Oversee pipe tallying, rigging up/down, and BOP unit handling.
• Inspect equipment including workover rig, fall arrest system, derrick, hoisting and mud pump.
• Instruct floor and derrick hands in the use of safety and rigging equipment.
• Complete field tickets promptly and document maintenance needs.
• Stop work if conditions are unsafe and report concerns immediately.
