Description

Attention all Optometry Technicians: we are calling on you to work with us providing Vision Exams and treatment to our Military Service members.

We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of _______ on an “as needed” basis.

  • U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)

This position will work directly with the patient, operate optical machinery, and interface with patient care software.

Duties
  • Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care
  • Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system
  • Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses
  • Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients
  • Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses
  • Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready
  • Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
  • Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required
  • Experience with computers, including knowledge of and experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
  • Must have own transportation for site traveling
