Overview

Attention all Optometry Technicians. We provide Vision Exams and treatment to our Military Service members. The position will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of _______ on an "as needed basis". We will provide Health Readiness Services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following: U.S. Army Reserve (USAR), Army National Guard (ARNG), U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR), U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES), U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR), Air National Guard (ANG), U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with patients, operate optical machinery, and interface with patient care software.
• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system.
• Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses.
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses.
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready.
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of word processing, databases, and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have own transportation for site traveling.
