Job summary

ARA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Frederick, MD to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of rheumatologic conditions in collaboration with ARA physicians. The role is full-time in an outpatient setting with a competitive salary and free parking at all sites.

You will perform histories, exams, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans, while coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality patient-centered care in compliance with state laws and protocols.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a graduate degree appropriate to the NP's area of practice.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the applicable state(s).
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a nationally recognized certifying body appropriate to the NP's population focus.
• Current authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the applicable state(s), including any required prescriptive authority.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain certification within the timeframe required by ARA.
• Prior rheumatology experience is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with rheumatologic conditions.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe medications and perform office-based procedures as permitted by law.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans with follow-up care.
• Provide patient education on diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle changes.
• Refer patients for internal and external services and coordinate care.
