Job summary

Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, PC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Frederick, MD for a full-time, on-site role. You will evaluate and treat rheumatologic conditions, prescribe medications, and coordinate care with ARA physicians.

The position emphasizes patient education, comprehensive assessments, and adherence to clinical protocols. Qualified candidates will hold an NP degree, RN license, NP/APRN license, and board certification, with BLS.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a graduate degree appropriate to the NP's area of practice.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the applicable state(s) of practice.
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a nationally recognized certifying body appropriate to the NP's population focus.
• Current authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the applicable state(s), including any required prescriptive authority, collaborative practice agreement, or physician oversight, as applicable.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain certification within the timeframe required by ARA.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with rheumatologic conditions, including OA, RA, PsA, osteoporosis, gout, lupus, and other conditions.
• Prescribe medications and perform office-based procedures as permitted by state law.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, radiographs, DEXA).
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Provide patient education on diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
