Job Description
The faculty physician is responsible for patient care in hospital and clinics, as well as engaging in research, education, and advocacy initiatives as directed by the Division Chief and/or Center leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from an accredited medical school (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of expertise.
- Understanding of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
- Ability to independently evaluate patient problems and develop care plans.
- Ability to incorporate ethical considerations into patient care and discuss these with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Supervision, advice, and training skills for clinical professionals and students.
- Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Continuous medical education to stay current in subspecialty developments.
- Legal and ethical compliance in medical practice.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Full licensure and credentialing as an attending physician at Children’s National Medical Center (Required)
- Board certification or eligibility in primary practice specialty (Required)
- Board certification in secondary specialty (Preferred)
