Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD seeks an RF Test Engineer to design, build, test, and deliver RF systems for DoW/IC missions. You will work on RF waveforms, antennas, and DSP techniques across lab and field environments, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and sponsors.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with hands-on RF lab experience, programming in Python/MATLAB/C++, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Experience with RF lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Experience with coding languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Experience with RF concepts such as network parameters, impedance, and distributed RF circuits.
• Experience in generating link budgets.
• Experience developing digital signal processing solutions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at APL's main campus and test sites.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead teams in the design and construction of hardware and software test beds.
• Participate in and lead teams in the integration of hardware and software systems.
• Define and execute hardware and software tests to characterize systems and validate that specifications and system requirements meet.
• Plan, participate in or lead field tests at lab and test sites.
• Analyze data from lab and field test events.
• Document and present work to sponsors and the IC communities.
• Grow skills in engineering, communication, and leadership.
