Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an Engineering Tech to partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test, troubleshoot, and assemble the next generation of RF plasma generators. You will report to a Systems Engineering Manager and contribute to test plans, data collection, and iterative improvements.

In this role you will support design, test, checkout and modification activities, using oscilloscopes and RF instruments.

Qualifications

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
Minimum of 1+ years of related experience.
Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electrical/RF instruments.
Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems.

Responsibilities

Support design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro‑mechanical systems or specialized test equipment.
Perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting from schematics and plans.
Conduct engineering tests and collect design data to support research work.
Perform operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Conduct failure analysis at system, subassembly and component levels.
