Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an Engineering Tech for MKS Power Solutions in Rochester, NY. You will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test, troubleshoot, and assemble RF plasma generators and related proto‑systems.

You will report to a Systems Engineering Manager and contribute to design validation and testing activities. You will use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF instruments to troubleshoot PCBA problems and support various test setups.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
• Minimum 1+ year of related experience.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and RF instruments.
• Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and assemble prototype RF plasma generator systems.
• Collaborate with Systems and Design Engineering on design validation.
• Perform testing from schematics and layouts to collect data.
• Conduct operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assist in failure analysis at system and component levels.
