Job summary

Inversion seeks an RF Systems Engineer to own development, integration, and verification of flight and ground RF/Telemetry systems for next-generation reentry vehicles. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of communication hardware from link analysis to radiation pattern modeling and live mission-readiness validation.

Reporting to the Manager of Arc Avionics, the role requires coordinating with software, GNC, power, and mechanical teams across harsh environments and regulatory licensing

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in aerospace/defense with RF hardware deployment or link architecture.
• Proven RF link budget development and analysis.
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (HFSS) for antennas.
• Background in fault-tolerant RF systems design.
• Proficient with lab equipment: spectrum/network analyzers, meters, scopes, DAQ.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity RF link budgets and antenna patterns.
• Conduct trade studies to select RF components including PA/LNA/antennas.
• Lead RF bench and vehicle-level testing with telemetry validation.
• Set up ground stations using S-band and L-band to ensure robust links.
• Collaborate with software, GNC, power, and mechanical teams on antenna placement and thermal management.
• Compile data and documentation for FCC/ITU/NTIA licensing.
• Design RF test systems and tests plans for space/reentry environments.
