Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking an experienced RF systems engineer with TIP operations expertise to lead calibration of space-based RF systems. The role focuses on guiding complex calibration efforts for satellite RF chains in space, coordinating with mission operations, and ensuring optimal system performance.

This position requires TS/SCI poly clearance, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), and 8+ years of RF systems experience in space environments.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI Poly clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of RF systems engineering experience in space-based applications.
• Demonstrated experience with Transition Implementation Plan (TIP) operations.
• Proven expertise in RF system calibration for transmit and receive paths.
• Understanding of space environment effects (thermal, radiation, vacuum) on RF performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical guidance on RF system calibration activities for space-based assets during TIP execution.
• Design, develop, and implement calibration procedures for both transmit and receive RF chains in orbital environments.
• Serve as SME and consultant for RF calibration challenges in space operations.
• Develop and validate end-to-end calibration methodologies accounting for space environment effects.
• Interface with mission operations, ground systems, and payload teams to ensure calibration accuracy and mission performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve RF calibration anomalies during on-orbit operations.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on RF calibration best practices and TIP activities.
