Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an RF/Microwave Systems Engineer to perform technical planning, system integration, testing, and risk analysis. You will conduct analyses at test, installation, and operations levels and provide hands‑on test support in a dynamic environment.

The role involves RF link budget and radar system performance analysis, antenna design, and development of test documentation within an Agile framework. Travel and outdoor work are required in CONUS regions.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in related field, or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience
• Interest in Electronic Warfare Systems or Radar design and testing
• Interest in Radar signal processing techniques
• Experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and vector network analyzers
• Experience with MATLAB
• Hands-on testing, integration, and verification support across lab facilities
• Skills with algorithm development, software integration, hardware testing, and IT networking
• Basic understanding of RF Hazards, including HERP/F/O
• Ability to generate technical documentation, test procedures, and test reports
• Understanding of customer requirements and objectives
• Ability to support technical and functional leadership through risk identification
• Willingness to travel for extended periods; deployments typically last one to two weeks, potentially three to four weeks
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors and handle heat, cold, sun, insects, wildlife, and hazardous plants
• Average of 25% travel required, mostly CONUS
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checks
• Minimum Secret clearance required to start
• Ability to work in office, industrial, or laboratory environments
• Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces, and extreme temperature variances
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift 50 lbs
• Ability to walk, climb, lift, and work in indoor and outdoor conditions

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and risk analysis
• Conduct analyses at test, installation, and operations levels
• Employ test assets and provide test support in a highly dynamic environment
• Perform RF link budget analysis and radar system performance analysis
• Apply testing philosophies and methodologies within an agile test environment
• Prepare and use test documentation and follow test etiquette
• Design, develop, and test RF and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products
• Work on antenna design, including reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters, and receivers
• Provide hands‑on testing, integration, and verification support across lab facilities
• Generate technical documentation, test procedures, and test reports
• Support technical and functional leadership by identifying risks
